Senior Backend Engineer — Payments Core

Role description

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work on the systems at the core of PSP.PRO’s payment infrastructure. This includes routing logic, acquiring integrations, reconciliation flows, internal services, and the backend foundation that supports reliable money movement at scale.

This role is for an engineer who wants to work close to production-critical systems, not peripheral features. You will help shape architecture, improve performance, and build services that have to hold up under real operational load. In payments, technical decisions quickly become operational decisions, so we are looking for someone who values clarity, reliability, and strong engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services across PSP.PRO’s payment infrastructure

• Work on routing, acquiring, reconciliation, settlement, and internal operational logic

• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability across core systems

• Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations teams on infrastructure requirements

• Help maintain code quality, system clarity, and engineering standards across the platform

• Support troubleshooting and improvement of production-critical payment workflows

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments

• Solid understanding of system design, APIs, integrations, and service reliability

• Experience working with high-load systems, transactional workflows, or financial infrastructure is a strong advantage

• Ability to think clearly about performance, edge cases, and operational consequences

• Comfortable working in a focused environment with direct ownership

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
